Today, PowerUP! flyers were handed out to over 100 teenage girls at the Colby College Pine Tree Basketball camp, and on the "info chain" of my church, FEFC! I remember when I was 13 years old ... I had just gotten my braces put on, and I was heading into junior highschool. I was trying so hard to blend in with the crowd, to not draw attention to myself and I wanted badly to be accepted. There were so many things running through my mind on that first day of school! ...girls, I can relate to the feelings you are feeling now! Let's get together and share with each other, laugh, talk, and just BE!

Where my girls at?! Time to PowerUP! :)
It seems like just yesterday I was entering middle school and I can remember vividly the excitement and the fears racing through me: would I be liked and accepted, what do I wear, can I compete, would I measure up...would I? could I?... questions, questions ... and even more questions!
And then it was onto high school and my life continued to spin ... a constant mixture of excitement, confusion, peer pressures, stress, and sometimes even a voice inside my head screaming: "Does anybody really understand what I'm going through?"
Well...it’s time to PowerUP YOUR LIFE! Let’s get together for a few hours and JUST TALK … “girl talk” … “teen talk.” I'll share with you my experiences - the good and the not so good … And I’ll share with you the POWER of the 4 C's: Character, Confidence, Commitment, and Courage, which kept me FOCUSED and on a road toward happiness and success. You're not alone in this, and you CAN and WILL make it through "the teen years!"
I will encourage you to HOPE, to DREAM, to BELIEVE, and most importantly, to LOVE and RESPECT yourself!
And, girls, you'll have a chance to put me on the hot seat during the "ASK ASHLEY" portion of the seminar where you can ask me ANYTHING! Advice, a problem, a question – don’t hold back! I'll be honest and give you my very best answer! Let's share, laugh, and celebrate TOGETHER the crazy confusing choices we are confronted with each and every day. This is your time...your life...your choice and in the end, I think you might just get to know a little bit more about your self!
